Hall on Thursday afternoon, as an .opportunity for some of Mrs A. R. .Benjamin’s friends to say good-bye prior to her departure shortly for Auckland; The whole atmosphere from the huge log fire and the decorations of old fashioned flowers* was decidedly Early Victorian; as also were the place cards with their quant decorations of nosegays, ■ mittens and fans. The guest of honour was presented with a charming “nosegay,” and the “farm” tea, with its accompanying spiced punch was a welcome apd happy'change and truly reminiscent of' the more placid times of- oiir : . grandmothers.
