Poacher Fires On Funeral Procession; Kills Two
(Received 10 a,m.) LONDON, April 1. During a farmer’s funeral procession in the village of Valinsolles, states the Paris correspondent of “The Times,” a poacher, as a revenge for an encounter last week with the police, fired at close range from a cottage, and fatally wounded two gendarmes. The mourners scattered, but the plucky local mayor threw a stone at the poacher, who aimed at the mayor. However, he had forgotten to reload his gun. Tbs murderer then slammed the window and instantly committed suicide.
