Capricornus Crash, French Radio Service Fails?

(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, April 1

The “Daily Telegraph’s” aviation writer says France is holding an inquiry into the loss of the Imperial Airways giant flying boat, Capricornus, in secret.

It 'is understood that evidence points to a failure of the French meteorological service, also failure of radio communications from Lyons, near which the machine crashed.

Warnings of ice forming conditions, which ought to have been transmitted were not sent. It is further suggested that requests for position from the Capricornus were either- unanswered or answers were not in time to be of any use.
