N.W. Frontier Uprising

(Received 2 p.m.) PESHAWAR, March 31. The Delhi correspondent of the “Daily Mail” attributes the fight at Dandil to unrest in the Waziristan, due to religious fanaticism. In this the Fakir of Ibi, who claims to be the champion of Islam, is prominent, although only yesterday he was negotiating for a truce with the delegates to the local Jirga (counsel of headmen). Last week the Jirga swore allegiance after an address by Major Johnston, assistant-resident in Waziristan. The fight lasted all day. British artillery and aircraft assisted in covering the convoy.
