No Bankruptcies So Far This
Year
In the latest vital statistics for Whangarei, it is an. interesting coincidence that the deaths for the first quarter and March are exactly the same as in these two periods last year, 30 and 11. Of the 82 births registered here in the three months, 31 were in March. The corresponding figures in 1936 were 73 and 25.
Marriage notices issued in the quarter totalled 34 and in March 13, compared with 31 and 14 last year. The figures therefore are constant. It is interesting to note that not a single bankruptcy has been filed in ..the local registrar’s district, whi,c'h ’ embraces all of Northland, with the exception of Dargaville and Work worth and further south, this year.
