No. 1 grass track on which the poles were out sft was available for fast work at Ellersle this morning and the going was good and some smart sprints were recorded.
Star Artist and Hollicker finished together at the end of half a mile in 49 2-ssec. This was a good effort. Mazir Royal Appellant beat Sinking Fund over a round in 1.54 2-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.19 2-5. Seven Seas and Aero Queen traversed six furlongs in 1,19 1-5. Impasto pleased while covering six furlongs in 1.17. White Foam and Son o t the Soil were sent half a mile, running their last three furlongs in 38sec. Surella beat Glen Abb over five furlongs in 1.3 3-5, while Waitaka was too good for Haputale at fthe end of a similar distance, the last four taking 50 2-ssec. Valpai ran a round in 1.58 2-5, the last half-mile in 54 2-ssec.
Lady Kyra Runs Away From Bonny Glow.
After covering the first two furlongs in 25sec, Marjorie Daw and Droll completed five in 1.4. Prince Rangi galloped seven furlongs in 1.32 3-5, the last half-mile taking 52 4-ssec. Bass was slightly in front of School'Song at the finish of six furlongs in 1.19 3-5, the last four occupying 52 4-ssec. Crooning got to the end of six furlongs in 1.17. She was joined by the Tea Tray—Cradle Song filly at the four furlong post but the latter was no good to her.
Lady Kyra ran right away from Bonny Glow over the concluding stages of five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. Shy covered a round in 1.53 2-5, the last six furlongs in 1.19 3-5. Land Girl joined him at the half-mile and finished several lengths in front in 50 2-ssec. The Jumpers. Prince of Orange (Ferguson) gave a good display while jumping four hurdles. Black Marlin (Moore) and Leo Colossus (Turvey) were sent over the same obstacles the former impressing most. Erase (Watson) and Tiny Star (Turvey) jumped four hurdles, the latter showing plenty of speed and finishing well clear. , Erase jumped carefully.
Jalldy Karo (O’Connor) went over two pony hurdles, while Rozel (L. Dulieu) jumped the big fences on the flat safely giving a fair display.
