Beef. —Our yarding totalled 143 1 of beef, comprising 11 steers arid cows and heifers, against 126 last w The qualtiy throughout was first-c but the demand was not so keen, values eased 1/- per 100 lbs. on quotations. There was a large' o ing of cows and heifers, and the was a sluggish one.,Extra choice sold to 30/- per 100 lbs.; choice prime, 28/- to 30/-; secondary ; plain, 24/ to 27/; prime young i and heifer beef, 24/ to 27/; secon< 17/ to 23/; light steers, £9/5/'to small and unfinished), £B/17/6 £9/5/; extra heavy prime young < and heifers, £8 to £9; heavy, £( to £7/15/; lighter, £5/5/ to £i light, £4 to £5; others, £2/15 £3/10/.
Calves.—A full, yarding of calves penned. Competition was keen, values remained firm on last w< quotation. Runners, £3 to £5; h vealers, £3/18/ to £4/6/; met vealers, £3/5/- to £3/12/; light v ers, £2/11/ to £2/18/: smaller ves £l/16/ to £2/4/; rough calves bobby calves, 5/ to 15/; unfinished bucket-fed, £ 1/1/ to ,£ 1/14/.
