Cargo Of Power Poles Due At Whangarei

The steamer Gabriella is due at Whangarei on Friday, from Australia, via Auckland, with a cargo of poles for the North Auckland Power Board. The ship was originally due to arrive today, but was delayed in Auckland. The steamer will berth at the Rail-' way Wharf, and the poles will be transported over the new road by lorry. From Whangarei, the Gabriolla will sail for Greymouth. Auckland Bowling Abandoned. Owing to the wet weather, the Auckland Bowling Centre’s Easter tournament was abandoned. Only three rounds were played on Friday, there was no play on Saturday and very little on Monday. The competitors are having half their fees returned. One Whangarei team, S. Williams, S. Gribble, G. Wilding and M. Whitelaw, had entered for the tournament.
