Placings Reversed In t Tauherenikau Handicap

The Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter meeting was concluded today in fine weather. The track was holding. The attendance was large, and the totalisator handled £ls, 467, against £12,808 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £38,725 10/-, against £24,354 last year, an increase of £14,371 10/-. Juvenile Handicap, of 130 sovs; two-year-olds; five furlongs.—(l) Accomplice, 8.3, 1; (2) Son and Heir, 9.3, 2; (4) Paranui, 7.10, 3. Seven others started. Four lengths; one length, time. 1.1 1-5. 1 .
Stewards’ Handicap, of 140 sovs; six furlongs.—(s) Export, 8.13, car. 8.8, 1; (2) Rustem, 8.9, 2; (3) First Chapter, 8.10, 3. Nine started. A length; four lengths. Time—l.l4 2-5. Rotowai Handicap, of 150 sovs; one mile.—(s) Mr Quex, 8.2, 1; (2) Earl Colossus, 8.4, car. 8.0, 2; (1) Laggard, 8.0, car. 8.4, 3. Seven others started. Three lengths; two lengths. Tauherenikau Handicap, of 200 sovs; seven furlongs.—(7) Blygain, 7.7, 1; (2) Boomerang, 8.2, 2; (5) Sansfoy, 7.13, car. 7.8, 3. Nine others started. Half a neck; three. lengths. Time —1.27 4-5. As the result of an inquiry into alleged interference by Sansfoy with Boomerang, who finished second and third, the placings were reversed, Boomerang being placed second and Sansfoy third. Pahiatua Handicap,, of 140 sovs; six furlongs.—(l) Nelumba, 8.9, 1; (2> Dorado, 8.1, car. 7.13, 2; (4) The Sandwichman, 7.12, 3. Five started. Half a length; a length. Time—l.l4 4-5. The stewards held an inquiry regarding an incident in the last race, in which it was alleged that P. Burgess, rider of Nelumba, struck P. Williams, the rider % of Dorado. No action was taken.
