Woman’s Legs And Arms In Sugar-Bag

(Received 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 29,

A sugar bag containing the arms and legs of a woman was found in the river Yarra, near the city, today, by two boys who were playing on the bank. The boys called a constable to the scene.

Investigations are now being made by detectives. Officers who- examined the remains have formed the opinion that the limbs were severed from the body two or three weeks ago. Evidently this had been skilfully done with a very sharp instrument. No other part of the body having beep found, no identification is possible. The woman is believed to have been less than 40 years of age.
