TOWN HALL OPENING APRIL 5

On Monday, April. 5,, playgoers of Whangarei are to have the. pleasure of seeing the popular*.. Vaudeville, Company from Australia, Stanley McKay’s “Gaieties of 1937.” Since arriving in New Zealand just before Boxing Day, the Gaieties have had most successful seasons in Christchurch, where seven weeks were played, Wellington and Auckland, at which city the company is now delighting crowded houses at J. C. Williamson’s His Majesty’s Theatre. Heading the combination of some 40 comedians, singers, dancers and acrobats, is Joe Lawman, Australia’s cleverest singing and whistling comedian. This is Mr. Lawman’s first visit to New Zealand, and, judging by the receptions he is receiving everywhere, it will not be his last. The opening production at the Town Hall is “Some Show,” and there is to be a complete change of revue each night of the season. Seats may be reserved at Laurie’s. 832
