Writer, Passes IPer Press Association. Copyright.] WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr Dan McKenzie, the well-known cricket and Rugby authority, ~ died here yesterday. Mr McKenzie was one of the most widely-knpwn sports personalities in New Zealand, mainly through his activities for many years as cricket umpire and Rugby referee, and later as a member of the New Zealand Rugby Football Referees’ Association, of which .he was president on several occasions and ever a most energetic officer. As a journalist on the staff of the ‘‘Free Lance” he wrote prolifically on both games, and was .a recognised authority on cricket and Rugby points of law.
