Footwear Prices On the Up
[Special to **Northern Advocate.’l AUCKLAND, This Day. Increases in leather prices, described as unprecedented since the war, plus higher labour costs, have caused Auckland manufacturers to announce higher prices for footwear. Men’s boots and other heavy footwear went up 2/ to 2/6 a pair from the factory . Costing is still proceeding in the factories for women’s footwear, but it is stated that the price for this will go up at least 10 per cent.
