At the Whangarei Bowling Club’s green on Saturday, the final of section C of the championship full-rink competition was completed. P. Reynolds, Lamb, F. Eccles and H. J. Piggott beat D. McLeod, H. Menzies, A. Taylor and W. ‘C. Coote, 25—18. Draw games were played as follows: Warne, Whitehead, Morrison, Good 25, beat McConnell, Haden, Cutforth, Allan 15; Priestly, Bicheno', Gazzard, Staple 19, beat Kearney, Wood, Nobes, Caplin I*6; H. Beehre, Newman, Stokes, Trembath 20, beat Cleverly, Sargent, Marshhall, Chissell 16; J. Evans, Wyatt, W. Beehre, W. Stewart 20, beat McCarroll, Smith, Farmer, Brewis, 14.
SWANN CUP CHALLENGE. The Portland Bowling Club challenged the Whangarei Club on Saturday for the Swann Cup. They were unsuccessful. The scores were: Whangarei 42 points, Portland 32. Two rinks from each club took part, play being very keen. The greens were in good order. Results: — N. Stead, Sothern, Whitelaw, Roberts (Whangarei) 18, beat Thackeray, Purchase, W. Williams, F. Cox (Portland) 16; Woledge, Marwick, Morrish, Graham (Whangarei) 24, beat J. Bowmar, R. McLaren,,. T. H. v , Wilson, E. Leese (Portland) 16. HIKURANGI TOURNAMENT.
The Bowling Club held a full' day tournament bn Saturday, *lO teams taking part. In addition to Hikurangi teams, entries from Whangarei and Kensington were received. The final was won by Westwell’s team, which beat that skipped by Gibson. The winning team was; Atkinson, Fields, G. Coutts,. Westwell (s.). ' ’ ■ ■ ■ GENTLEMEN’S CLUBS MEET. The Whangarei and Dargaville Gentlemen’s Clubs met in their annual match on Saturday, Dargaville being successful.
