METHODIST MAORI CHOIR

The Methodist Maori Choir, which has done such fine work during past years throughout the Dominion, visited Paparoa on Saturday, and were entertained at lunch and tea in the Jubilee Hall. In the evening they delighted the audience which assembled in the Garrison Hall with their varied programme, which included solos, wonderful part singing, choruses. poi dances and illustrations of old-time Maori customs and games. The party, which is in charge of Sister M. Ellison, visited Batley Native Church, assisting in the service on Sunday morning, and led a musical service in Paparoa Methodist Church last evening. P t ev. G. Parker presided, and the service proved most inspiring and helpful. In appreciating the visit of the Maoris, Mr Parker, on behalf of the congregation, wished them every success in their coming tour to England and America, and testified to the good work they had done here. The choir proceeded North on a brief concert tour.
