TO BE DISCOURAGED
VISIT OF SAMOAN DELEGATION TO N.Z.
[Special to “Northern Advocate"! WELLINGTON, This Day.
According to a statement by the Prime Minister, the Ht. Hon. M. J. Savage, the Government is to discourage the visit to New Zealand of a Samoan delegation which wishes to discuss questions affecting the territory. Mr. Savage said a message had been sent advising against the visit. The New Zealand Parliamentary delegation, he said, had recently returned from a visit to Samoa, but, as yet, the Government had not had time to go fully into the report made by members of the mission, the Minister of Lands, the Hon. F. Langstone and Mr. J. O’Brien, M.P. for Westland.
However, Mr. Savage added, if the Samoans desired to make further representations, the Government would consider the desirability of sending another representative, possibly a Minister of the Crown, to discuss the question on the spot.
