The Prime Minister, Mr J. A, Lyons, in the House of Representatives today, outlined the position in regard to Pacific shipping. He said that recently there had been, consultations with the New Zealand jQk)vernment, as a result of Which the New Zealand Government was bringing down legislation.

The Commonwealth. Government policy, would be determined as soon as possible after the receipt of the report of the Imperial Shipping Committee and appropriate legislation would be introduced after that. In addition to measures which the Commonwealth Government proposes to take for protection of shipping in the Tasnian, plans for safeguarding shipping trade to the East are receiving consideration.* /
