FUNERAL OF LATE J. COLLINS

EX-HEADMASTER ABLE TO

ATTEND

The funeral of the late Mr Jack Collins, which took place at the Kamo Cemetery yesterday afternoon, was attended by many comrades in work and sport, and friends of the highly respected family. The Rev. H. T. Steele officiated, and pall-bearers represented the staffs of the Bank of New Zealand at Whangarei and Auckland. By a rather unusual coincidence, Mr W. Thomas, ex-headmaster of the Timaru Boys’ High School, was able to be present. Mr Thomas, who is District Governor of Rotary for New Zealand, was paying an official visit to. the Whangarei Club yesterday, and was thus unexpectedly enabled to pay a last tribute of respect to his former pupil by attending the funeral..
