RUSSIA TO WITHDRAW?
(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, October 21.
The “Daily Herald” says it is believed that Germany has accused Russia of sending aeroplanes, guns and ammunition to the Spanish Government in ships supposed to be carrying food and medical supplies. In view of the latest develop-
ments in the non-intervention dis-
pute, the diplomatic correspondent
{of the “Daily Telegraph” states
that the Soviet Government is ex-
pected to withdraw immediately
from the Committee and may send arms without delay to Barcelona.
.The Berlin correspondent of “The Times” says Germany has sent a Note to the committee declaring the Spanish and Russian charges of German infringements of the arms embargo to be utterly baseless. ; It is undrestood the German reply categorically denies the Russian and Spanish allegations of breaches of the non-intervention Agreement, and alleges that, a munitions train arrived in Madrid from Barcelona on September 12 with 60 Russian anti-aircraft guns and that the Russian steamer, Komsomol, on October 16 landed at Cartagena 50 tanks, with crews numbering 54. / 1 .
