COMING OF AGE

A party to celebrate the coming-of-age of their son lan, was given by Mr and Mrs A. Wilkinson, of Awantii Road, in the Parish Hall, last week. A pleasant time was spent in dancing, and further enjoyment was given to the guests by songs sung by Miss Elsie Geard and Mr O. Beck. A number of congratulatory speeches were made, Mr J. Taaffe acting as toastmaster. On Friday evening, a similar party was held in the Parish Hall in celebration of Mr Jack Taylor’s twenty-first birthday. Songs were sung by Mrs H. H. Rule and Mr O. Beck, but the evening was devoted chiefly to games and dancing.
