TANGITERORIA
A pleasant evening was spent at the Tangiteroria Settlers’ Hall on Friday last, when friends of Mr and Mrs Simcock, who are shortly leaving the district, gathered to bid them farewell. The evening was organised by members of the Tennis Club, of which Mr Simcock had been secretary. Music for the dancing . was supplied by Messrs. Gunson (accordion), Norris (banjo), and McKay (accordion). The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr F. C. Clarke. Before the supper interlude, Mr J. Nash, senr., president of the Tennis Club, presented Mr and Mrs Simcock with a travelling rug, and in a short speech, conveyed to them the best wishes of members of the club and friends for their future happiness and welfare in the new district. Mr Nash also said that they would be greatly missed in this district, because of the interest they had shown and the assistance they had given in all social events. Mr Simcock suitably replied, adding that he hoped to be able to visit the district again at some future date.
