CHEERS FOR CHERRY CAKE ! Here’s the method: Cream lb. butter and 4 lb. sugar; sift i lb. flour and one teaspoon baking powder. Add 2 beaten eggs, then add dry ingredients, and 4 lb. glace cherries and 1 oz. peel. Add Stevens’ “Cathedral Brand" Essence of Lemon or Vanilla to taste and finally one tablespoon of milk Bake 40 minutes —moderately. Flavour responds particularly well to “Cathedral Brand” Essences.
