SHOOTING TRAGEDY
t Special to “Northern Advocate .’*] AUCKLAND, This Day. A shooting party which visited Silverdale terminated in a tragic manner yesterday afternoon. Kenneth McKinley Rutherford, aged 29, married, an Auckland estate agent, was sitting in the car talking to a companion when the double-barrelled gun which he was holding between his knees accidentally discharged. He received the chairge in the neck at point blank range and was killed instantly. After he had been shot Mr. Rutherford was still gripping the barrels with both hands. An inquest was opened before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., coroner, this morning. I
