FOOTBALL ACCIDENTS

TWO PLAYERS SUFFER BROKEN LEGS Two accidents occurred during the junior Rugby match between High School and Hikurangi on Saturday afternoon. Norman Ritson, aged 16, a member of the Hikurangi team which is leading in the competition, suffered a fracture of the right fibula and is in the Whangarei District Hospital. Derek Ward, a High School player, was also admitted to the hospital with an ankle injury, but was discharged the same evening. Playing League for Kensington seniors on Saturday, Matthew Pitman, aged 25, of Drummond Street. Whangarei, suffered a fracture of the right leg, and is making satisfactory progress.
