RUSSIAN WORLD TRADE. The decision of the Russian suppliers to offer their timber in future as free sellers on the same competitive terms as other national exporters to the British market marks a further step in the closing of a controversy which for five years or more has introduced some economic and political friction into international relations (says “The Times”) • Of greater significance is the evidence that *this step affords ' that Russia, whatever may be her internal economic order, is more and more recognising the value of orthodox methods in her trading relations with other countries.
