WAIPAPAKAURI AERODROME

Mr Lloyd Peace presided at a meeting of representatives of local bodies and Government departments called for the purpose of arranging a programme for the opening of the Waipapakauri aerodrome on Thursday, February 27. The Mangonui County Council, Town Board, Chamber of Commerce. Public Works Department and P. and T. Department were represented. It was stated that the Auckland Aero Club would hold a pageant on the opening day, and that six or seven planes would participate.

It was decided to send invitations to the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Public Works and Defence, the Director of Air Services, General Sir Sinclair-Burgess and Squadron-Leader Isitt, commanding the Hobsonville air base.
