BOROUGH BY-ELECTION
FIVE CANDIDATES IN FIELD.
NOMINATIONS CLOSED TODAY.
When nominations closed at -noon today for the by-election to fill two vacancies on the Whangarei Borpugh Council, five candidates were in the field. The poll will be held on February 18. Those to offer themselves are:—
Albert Frederick Baker, nominated by H. Keane Clarke and W. H. Calvert.
St. Clair Jounneaux, nominated by C. B. Bevins and William Reynolds. Robert Robertson Menzies, nominated by L. J. Brake, G. W. Bennett, C. V. Stringer, S. Clayton Thorne, G. R. Sargent, E. L. Whimp, H. N. James and Edwin Reed.
Harry Patterson, nominated by W, H. Calvert and H. F, Menzies.
Ernest Gervase William Tibbits, nominated by H. C. Rishworth, J. S. Day, K. G. M. Kelly and F. M. Eccles.
