is understood that Japanese industrialists are investigating means of linking up Japan with Australia, New Zealand and other countries to the south by aviation. Possibly services will connect with the British ones at Hong Kong and Singapore, if they do not go direct, for the purpose of speeding up samples and mails to keep pace with European competition. Probably aeroplanes will be used, as the formally reported zeppelin project is lagging. In this connection there are continued loud complaints about the expense of cabling to Australia.
