NO INFORMATION
It is the usual procedure on occasions such as the death of the Sovereign for all business activities to cease on the day set aside for national mourning. Religious services figure prominently in the observance of the day. Information on these points is supplied by the Governor-General through the Prime Minister, but, probably owing to the late receipt of the news of the King’s death it hasbeen impossible for the information to be distributed today. At any rate, inquiries made in Whangarei late this afternoon revealed that no communication regai’ding this matter had been received by the local authorities.
