Dairy Produce
BOARD’S WAR RISK POLICY [Special to "Northern Advocate.”! AUCKLAND, This Day. A war risk, at the rate of 1/. per cent., to cover the export of dairy produce to be shipped to the United Kingdom by the steamer Rangitane, Port Wyndham, Norfolk, Cornwall and Coptic have been arranged by the New Zealand Dairy Control Board. The policy of the board has always been to contract an insurance covering the period from the time: the milk or cream arrives at the factory till one month after the butter arrives in the United Kingdom. The contract is made with the underwriters in London, and includes a war risk, but the latter clause is only availed of when countries are at war.
Since trouble developed between Italy and Abyssinia, the board has taken advantage of the war risk to have New Zealand export dairy -produce covered, the right of nominating the premium being reserved to the underwriters. The rate has, at times, been higher than the 1/ per cent fixed for the shipments of the steamers mentioned above.
