N.Z. IS BRITAIN’S LARGEST SUPPLIER
DANISH EXPORTS DECLINE New Zealand is now the largest individual supplier of butter to Great Britain. Denmark, which previously held this position, was displaced in 1934,. and, since then New Zealand has consolidated its premiership. 1 A feature of the butter trade last year was the increased Empire supply and the decline in foreign shipments, especially Danish. The proportion of Empire butters was 56.5 per cent last year, compared with 54.5 per cent in 1934, and 52.7 per cent in '1933. The British market supplies for the past three years compare as follows:
