ORAWAU
On New Year’s Eve a most enjoyable dance was held in the Orawau Hall by the local cricket club. Mr H. L. Yorke carried out the duties of M.C. The music was supplied by H. Clarke’s orchestra, and, after an excellent supper, dancing was carried on until the small hours. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss F. Chapman and Mr R. Chapman, and a spot waltz by Mrs Doherty and Mr J. Jellick.
Scholastic. Mr J. Sharkey, head teacher at Omahuta, and Miss E. Harris, assistant teacher at Tutekehua., have both obtained their B.A.’s. Mr and Mrs G. H. Neill are away for a short holiday at the beach. Mrs J. Julian and family are away camping at Mitimiti. Mrs Clarke, Auckland, and two girls are staying with Mrs G. Grey, Tutekehua.
