GOLD IN AUSTRALIA

The gold production for Australia for October amounted to 85,896 fine ounces, according to a statement by the Commonwealth statistician. This compared with 72,090 fine ounces and 71,869 fine ounces in the same month of 1931 and 1933 respectively. The total amount for the 10 months ended October, 1935, amounted to 717,423 fine ounces and, for a similar period in 1934, to 730,027 fine ounces.
