QUICK AIR SERVICE

PALMERSTON NORTH AND DUNEDIN [Special to "Northern Advocate.”! AUCKLAND, This Day. Recently two De Havilland air-lin-ers for Union Airways of New Zealand, Ltd., arrived here, and they will shortly be assembled and tested at Wigram Aerodrome, Christchurch. They are to be employed on the Palmerston North —Dunedin service, and operations will probably commence early in the New Year. Powered by four engines, each of 200 horse-power, the machines have a top speed of 173 miles an hour, and cruise at 145. The planes will be fitted with radio, so that communication can be carried out two ways with the ground stations at Palmerston North, Blenheim, Christchurch and Dunedin. In cases of sudden change in the weather the pilots can be given a description of the conditions.
