LAND SETTLEMENT
ACTIVITY IN WAIKATO HAMILTON, This Day. The Waikato Land Settlement Society has been active of late, and two more blocks of lapd at Wharepapa have been acquired. The two blocks comprise 1269 acres and bring the area owned by the society at Wharepapa up to 3629 acres, or the total area in its possession at Wharepapa, Rotor-o-rangi and Whatawhata up to over 7000 acres; Shortly after it commenced operations the society had given to it 1430 acres at Wharepapa, and it later acquired by purchase an adjoining block of 930 acres. The third block, of 709 acres, was recently acquired by the honorary manager, Mr D. V. Bryant, and has new been handed to the society as a further gift, while a fourth block, 560 acres, was acquired through the generosity of Mr H. Valder, who granted a loan to the organisation for five years, free of interest.
