WHANGAROA

. GOLF MATCH. The Cooper’s Beach men’s team travelled to Kaeo on Sunday, and met the Whangaroa club’s team. The match was all sqpare in the foursomes, but Cooper’s won the singles 2 up. Following are particulars of the match, with Cooper’s Beach players mentioned first:—

Pole beat D. Whitehead, 2 and 1; Barker lost to Christiansen, 2 and 1; Mitchell lost to Chappell, 2 and 1; Harris beat V. Whitehead, 3 and 1; W. Wilton lost to Mitcalfe, 2 up; Williams beat Lane, 1 up; Feisst beat Hayes, 2 up; Wrathall beat Pye, 5 and 3. Pole and Barker lost to Christiansen and D. Whitehead, 6 and 5; Wilton and Williams lost to Mitcalfe and Lane. 4 and 2; Harris and Wrathall beat Lane and V, Whitehead, 1 up; Alexander and T. Wilton beat Hayes and Pye, 3 and 2.

Refreshments were provided. The course was in excellent order, and a pleasant day was spent. Mr Mitchell, president of the Cooper’s Beach Club, thanked the Whangaroa players for their hospitality. Mr Lane responded.
