Work is proceeding on Mr Crimp’s recently purchased sections in Church Street, opposite the school. Ornamental shrubs and trees are being planted, the land ploughed ready for grassing, and the property laid out in general improvements. . Miss M. Horn, home for recess from her scholastic duties at Piopio, is spending the holidays as the guest of her parents, Mr and Mrs J. H. Horn. Mr J. Burch, relieving teacher at K'ohukohu, and Miss A. Burch, headmistress at- Waimauku School, arrived last week, and both are spending the holidays as guests of their parents, Mr and Mrs W. D, Burch. '

Mr A. Burch, headmaster of Maungaturo'to School, accompanied by Mrs Burch, arrived last week,: and both are guests of the latter’s,parents, Mr and Mrs R. Cleary, senr. Mr R. Cleary, junior, of the Pipiwai School teaching staff, accompanied by Mrs Cleary, is spending the holiday recess with his parents, Mr and Mrs R. Cleary, senr. Mr J. W. Beasley, recently an inmate of the Whangarei Hospital, is home again much improved in health. ; Mrs W.'Brown, also' an inmate of the hospital, has returned: home. Mr and Mrs Archibald and family are in occupation of Mr Finch’s beach bungalow; Mr and Mrs J. Marshall and family of their foreshore residence; and Mr arid Mrs H. Menzies in their Park Road villa. Mr and Mrs Williams and family, late of Hikurangi, arrived last week, with a view, to permanent residence in Onerahi, arid have taken Turner’s house on the corner of Mackenzie Avenue.

Among present visitors to Onerahi is Mrs C. D. Cullen, of Hukerenui, Divisr ional Commissioner for North Auckland section of the Girl Guide Movement, who with her family, is the guest of her parents, Mr and Mrs Franklin. A muster of the local Girl Guides and Brownies was held in the Town Hall on Monday. , After a fortnight’s holiday spent as the guest of his/mother, Mrs Orchiston, Mr Hector Orchiston left again on Wednesday to resume his duties in Auckland.
