The Canberra correspondent of the “Sydney Morning Herald” states that Sir Alexander Hore-Ruthven, formerly Governor of South Australia and now Governor of New South Wales, will succeed Sir Isaac Isaacs, as Gov-ernor-General of Australia. An official announcement is expected next week. It is understood that before Sir Alexander takes office he will be raised to the peerage.
