HOUSE BUILDING
INCREASE IN BRITAIN. [British Official Wireless.l (Received 2 p.m.) RUGBY, August 13. . The part played by building societies in promoting the notable increase of house building in recent years is shown by figures issued of the sums advanced on mortgage. The annual total has grown from £9 000,000, in 1913, to £74,000,000, in 1929. to £124,000,000 last year. Assets at the moment in Britain now amount to £555,028,011.
