AMATEUR WRESTLING
BROADWOOD v. WHANGAREI. An interested audience packed the A. and P. Hall at Broadwood for the amateur wrestlyig bouts between the Broadwood Wrestling Club ‘and the Whangarei club. The big match was the bout between B. Hollows, 11.2 (Whangarel), and R. White, 11.4 (Napier). Hollows went ahead with a fall from a body press in the second round, and followed this with in the next session. 'H. Hornell (school boy) beat L. JVliddleton by one fall; J. Mulcahy, 9.6 (Broadwood), beat D. Findlay, 9.0 (Whangarel), by two falls; A. Anderson, 10.4 (Broadwood) and N. Boyd, ,10.4 (Whangarel), drew; L. Wilkinson 9:10 (Whangarel), beat L. Hornell, 9.4 (Broadwood), by one fall; L. North, 8.2 (Whangarei), beat I. Boyd, 8.12 (Whangarel) by one fall; W. Reid, 12.10 (Broadwood) and B. Ling, 12.2 (Broadwood), drew; R. Hollows, 12.6 (Whangarei), beat M. Martin, 12.4 (Broadwood), by one fall: T. 12.0 (Broadwood) and B. Ling, 12.2 (Broadwood), drew. B. Hollows and R. Hollows, both of Whangarei, gave a bright exhibition bout. The referee was Mr R. Pethybridge, Rawene.
