FAMILY BANQUET
TEN BROTHERS AND SISTERS. FIRST MEAL TOGETHER. AGES TOTAL 600 YEARS. ISpecial to “Northern Advocate "l AUCKLAND, This Day. Five brothers and five sisters, whose total ages exceed 600 years, sat down to a meal together for the first time in their lives last night at the Waverley Hotel. They were members of the Rhodes family, and the gathering was made possible by the arrival at Auckland, by the Mariposa last Friday, of the second eldest brother, Mr Henry Rhodes, of Claremont, Perth, Western Australia. He is tho only member of the family residing outside New Zealand. The brothers and sisters, with their wives and husbands, met at the hotel for dinner. Later, a social and dance was held at Newmarket, at which about 45 of their children, grandchildren and cousins were present.
