The naval correspondent of the i “Daily Telegraph” says the serious view taken by France of the rebuilding of the German Navy is indicated by the steady reinforcement of the French Northern, or Channel Squadron, the strength of which has been doubled in the past nine months. The ships are to be supported by a great air fleet operating between Brest and the Channel ports. At the present rate of development, the French Northern Squadron will be superior to the British Home Fleet in all types, except the capital ships.
