WEEK-END ACCIDENTS
FOOTBALLER FRACTURES LEG MISHAP TO CYCLIST While playing for Onerahi juniors against City in a Rugby League niatch on Saturday afternoon, at Jubilee Park, Alexander Baker, aged 15. youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Baker, ot Onerahi. suffered a fracture of the right leg. He was admitted 1 to tne Whangarei District where his condition is reported as 1 satisfactory. This was a particularly unfortunate affair, as Baker showed exceptional promise as a half-back. When Eric Parker, aged 15, of Wbau Valley Road, fell off his bicycle near his home this morning he sustained abrasions to the head and face and shock. A private car conveyed him to the Whangarei District Hospital. A fracture of the left shoulder, befell Leslie Bowers, aged 23, of Pipiwai, on Saturday. Bowers was engaged in jacking logs on to a truck at Pipiwai when one slipped and crushed him against a bank.
