WEEK-END GOLF
DARGAVILLE PAY VISIT MATCH WITH WHAU VALLEY. LOCAL MEN HAVE A WIN. ■ A party of "golfers from the Dargaville Club played a' week-end match against the Whau Valley Club on the Whau Valley links. The men’s match was won by one match by Whau Valley, but the Dargaville ladies registered a win. Results (Dargaville names first) were: — Ladies’ Singles: Mrs Colmore Williams lost to Mrs Martin, Miss O’Meara beat Miss McPhee, Miss Aitken beat Mrs McKinnon, Miss Harding beat Mrs McLeod, Miss Crump and Miss Holman were all square, Miss Wilkins lost to Miss Tucker, Mrs Goulding lost to Miss Baigent, Mrs Hayes beat Mrs Walker, Mrs Finlayson lost to Miss Thompson, Mrs Hosking beat Mrs Parkes.
Four-ball: Mrs Colmore Williams and Miss O’Meara beat Mrs Martin and Miss McPhee, Miss Aitken and Miss Harding beat Mrs McKinnon and Mrs McLeod, Miss Crump and Miss Wilkins lost to Miss Holman and Miss Tucker, Mrs Goulding and Mrs Hayes and. Miss Baigent and Mrs Walker were all square, Mrs Finlayson and Mrs Hosking beat Miss Thompson . and Mrs Parkes.
Men’s Singles: H. Smith beat M. Sheriff, C. Astley lost to R. Hargrave, Gould and Dennis were all square, Izzard beat Chalmers, Colmore Williams lost to Dunning, Hosking beat Henricksen, Hilton beat Crawford, Goulding lost to Wilson, Barnard lost to Martin, Thompson lost to McLeod. Four-ball; Smith and Astley lost to Sheriff and Hargrave, Gould and Izzard and Dennis and Chalmers were all square, Colmore Williams and Hosking beat Henrickson and Dunning, Hilton and Goulding beat Wilson andl Crawford, Barhard and Thompson lost to Martin and McLeod.
