There is an active demand, and the market is advancing. The outlook is promising. Cheese: New Zealand, white, 45/; coloured, 44/. The demand has improved, and the market is firm for the present. WEEKLY SUMMARY. THE BOARD’S REPORT. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following market report from its London office under date July 26; Butter. New Zealand, salted, approximately IO.SOd, f.0.b., 92/-to 93/, (last week, 89/' to 90/); unsalted, 96/ to 98/ (94/); deliveries, New Zealand, 1728 tons (last year, 1734 tons); in store, 7145 tons (last year, 12,644 tons). Australian, salted, 90/ to' 91/ (86/ to 87/); unsalted, 92/ to 96/ (87/ to 88/); deliveries, Australian, 1547 tons (last year, 1580 tons); in store, 8122 tons (last year, 9750 tons). The market is firm. New Zealand retail price, unchanged, Hd. Irish creamery salted, 92/ to 93/ (88/); unsalted, 94/ (90/). Danish, 108/ spot, 86/ f.o.b. (102/ spot, 1 si/ f.0.b.). Dutch, unsalted, 82/ to 86/ (81/ to 85/). Estonian, salted, 86/; unsalted, 87/. Siberian, salted, 86/ to 88/ (81/ to 83/).. Ukrainian, .85/ to 37/ (81/ to 82/). Polish, salted, 76/ to 80/ (74/ to 76/). Lithuanian, salted and unsalted, 83/ to 86/ (81/ to 83/). The market is firm. Danish retail price, unchanged 1/. The Imperial Economic Committee’s estimated stocks of all butters, 1,255,44*2 (last .year, 1,872,254). The board also received the following, advice from its agents in Canada:—Butter: New York, 24 cents; Montreal, 20£ cents. Cheese. New Zealand, white, approximately 4.69 d, f.0.b., 44/ to 44/6 (last week, 43/6 to 44/); coloured, approximately 4.6 d, f.0.b., 43/6 to 44/; exceptional. 44/6. Deliveries, New Zealand, 20,563 crates (last year, 23,081 crates): in store, 165,164 crates (last year, 148,203 crates). New Zealand retail price, unchanged, 6d. There is an improved demand. Canadian white, 62/ to 64/ (62/ to 63/); coloured, 62/ to 63/ (62/ to 63/). Deliveries, Canadian, 4057 boxes (last year, 4520 boxes); in store, 45,704 boxes (last year, 70,375 boxes). The market is steady. English factory cheese, 32/ to 38/. The market is quiet. WORLD’S RECORD LARGE HERD OF COWS. MATAMATA DISTINCTION. MATAMATA, This Day. What is stated to be a world’s record for a large herd of cows has been created by Mr T. H. Seed, of Taihoa, Matamata. During the 1934-35 season’ the 170 cows milked by Mr Seed gave an average of 340.441 bof butterfat. At lOd per lb butterfat this equals £l4 3/3 per cow and £2411 3/4 for the herd. The test was conducted by the New eZaland Herd Testing Association.
