LONDON WOOL SALES. •15,000 N.Z. BALES SOLD. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 25,
At the wool sales, 7704 bales were offered,'including 2434 New Zealand. About 4414 Australian and New Zealand were sold. New Zealand halfbred lambs, “Feilding,” top price, 13d; average, 10|d.
After a setback towards the end of the second week, the demand widen- i ed, and closed firm with prices attend- j ing in sellers’ favour. Compared with j May closing, Merinos, greasy, of warp character, are 10 per cent higher. Purely Continental styles of topfleeces, 5d to lid; scoureds, fine, bulky, sd; broader styles, sd. Inferior and fautly, par to sd; crossbreds, fine anti medium (helped by Russian support). lOd to 15d, and slipes, 71 per cent higher. The total catalogued was 129,164 bales. Sold: For Home market, 59,000 bales; Continent, 40,599 bales; held over, 72,000. Total sales: Australian, 45,000 bales; New Zealand, 45,000. At Bradford, Merinos are easier and crossbreds firm, with a hardening tendency.
