There was an untoward happening in the last race, the Tramway Hack Handicap, at Gisbornb yesterday. Three furlongs from home Blygain was in the lead from First Dance, when .the latter fell, bringing down Memnon and Royal Mimic. R. Marsh, rider of Memnon, had an arm broken, while W. J. Broughton, rider of Royal Mimic, and S. Anderson, ,rider of First Dance, escaped with a severe shaking. An inquiry into 1 .the incident was held ‘last night. After the' evidence of several riders had been heard, the judicial committee resolved that the accident was caused by interference with First Dance by Joystick, ridden by H.
