ABATTOIR PELTS EASIER. LSpecial to “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day. At the fortnightly sale of hides and skins held by Auckland brokers yesterday an easing of about one halfpenny per lb in the price of abattoir cow hides was noticeable. Other grades were steady. Dried sheepskins were a shade firmer, but salted sheepskins were unchanged. Tallow values, in' sympathy with the London market, were easier, best quality being, about one shilling per cwt lower than the previous sale. The following prices were realised; Hides. —Ox (abattoirs), heavy 65-8 d per lb; medium, 6£d;' light, 5d to 5 3-8 d; country butchers, heavy, 5 7-8 d to 61-8 d; medium, 5-Jtd to s|d; light, 4£d to 4£d; cow (abattoirs), heavy, 4|-d to 4|d; light to medium, 4|d; country butchers’, 4d; farmers’, all weights, 2fd to 3|d; yearlings (abattoirs), heavy, s|d to s|d; light, 6£d to 7|d; second grade, 3|d to - sd; cut and faulty, 2£d to 3Jd; calfskins, under 41bs, 7d to 7-|d; 41b to 51bs, 7|d to 8d; 61b to 81b, B£d to 9d; seconds, and cut, s£d to slippy, 2.id to s|d. Dry Sheepskins.—Threequarter to full wool, medium to fine crossbred, 6d to 7|d; coarse crossbred, s£d to 6d; damaged and faulty, 3id to 4|d; half wools, medium to fine crossbred, 6d to 6£d; coarse crossbred, 4|d to sd; damaged and faulty, 2id to 4d; bare to quarter wools, sound, 3|d to 4id; damaged and faulty, 2d to 2 id. Salted Sheepskins.—Quarter wools) sound, 2/2 to 2/10 each; faulty, 1/6 to 2/; threequarter to full wool, sound, 4/6 to 5/2; medium, 2/9 to 3/5; faulty, 2/4 to 3/3. Tallow—Good quality, 25/ to 25/6 per cwt; second grade, 22/ to 24/; third'grade and inferior, 17/6 to 20/.
