LORD DANESFORT ' LONDON, June 30. 1 The death has occurred of Lord j > Danesfort. j John George Butcher, scholar and lawyer, first Baron Danesfort, was > born at Killarney, Ireland, in 1853. He t was the son of the Bishop of Meath. . Educated at Marlborough School and , Trinity College, Cambridge, he proved 5 to be a brilliant scholar, becoming Bell University Scholar, Eighth Classic, and Eighth Wrangler. In 1379 he became a K.C. A Conservative in politics, he was elected M.P. for York in 1892 and held the seat until 190 G. ■ Re-elected for York in 1910, he was made a barcnet in 1918 and six years later was raised to the peerage. 3 ARCHDEACON DAVIES SYDNEY, June 30. * | The death is reported of Arche deacon David John Davies, Principal 3 of the Moore Theological College. r University of Sydney.
