AQUARIUM MYSTERY

TATTOOED ARM CASE. INQUIRY OPENS TOMORROW. (Received 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 1. The magisterial inquiry into the tattooed arm mystery has been adjourned until Wednesday, owing to the fact that Mr Evatt, counsel* for Patrick Brady, is suffering from influenza. In connection with the decision of the Australian Supreme Court regarding the legality of the action of the coroner in holding an inquest regarding the tattooed arm mystery, it is interesting to note that while in Australia it has been illegal to conduct an inquest without the coroner first viewing the body of deceased, provision is made in New Zealand for an inquest to be held even though the body cannot, be produced. The Coroners Act enforced in New Zealand directs, where a coroner has a reason to believe that death has occurred in such circumstances that an inquest ought to be held, he may, with the consent of the AttorneyrGeneral, conduct an inquest, though no body be , produced.
